New Report from Children's Hospitals and Clinics Shows Vaccination Rates Declining among Minnesota Children
Minnesota has long been known as a leader in the area of childhood vaccination rates, but a new report released today from Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota shows the state's vaccination rates are backsliding. According to the 2009 National Immunization Survey (NIS), Minnesota has dropped 13 spots in two years – from seventh place in 2007 to 20th place in 2009 – for vaccination coverage rates for the primary series of shots(1) among all children 19 months through 35 months of age.
