Volunteers and staff share a common objective of providing the finest care for our patients and their families. Together we have earned our hospital the recognition of being one of the finest health care providers in the Upper Midwest.
Each summer Children's of Minnesota hosts the Career Exploration Series at both the Minneapolis and St. Paul hospital campuses. These are free to anyone interested in learning about a career in health care.

What do Volunteers Do?

We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers at our Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnetonka, Woodbury, and Roseville facilities.

Volunteers at Children’s assist in more than 30 departments helping in both support and patient care areas.

In support positions our volunteers answer phones, provide clerical and administrative assistance, run errands, and assist with data entry and filing.

In patient care positions volunteers work directly with children, providing companionship to hospitalized children and their siblings. In these positions our volunteers help ease the fear and anxiety patients, siblings, and families feel as the result of being hospitalized, having a sibling who is hospitalized, or having a child who is hospitalized. These activities include rocking and holding infants, playing games, arts and crafts projects, watching movies, playing video games, reading stories, pushing children in strollers, and pulling children in wagons.
