At Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota we continually strive to deliver next generation care. Our new private patient rooms are being designed to:
Meet the changing needs of children and families
Minimize the need to move patients
Improve infection control
Allow easier access to patient-dedicated equipment and medications
Promote family involvement
Meet the unique medical, emotional, behavioral, and educational needs of each child and family
Our Family Advisory Council and Youth Advisory Council are integral members of our planning
teams and were very involved in the room design process. Click the image on the left to view the Youth Advisory Council's “wish list” for the
perfect room, and see how their vision is becoming a reality.
New amenities and technology will give children more choices in their lives when everything else seems beyond their control:

On-Demand Services. A comprehensive menu of online service requests ranging from ordering food to requesting interpretive services.
Entertainment. Relieves the stress of a hospital stay for children and families by providing them an array of entertainment diversions, including movies, music, live programming, interactive video games, and Web cameras.
Engagement. The naturally curious and creative sense of children, adolescents, and families will be indulged with interactive educational and artistic programs, including live arts and science programming on the hospital campus that is broadcast directly to the bedside.
