Cardiovascular Services
Recognized as a leader in pediatric cardiovascular services, Children's program is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the region, and the only one with a dedicated pediatric cardiovascular lab. In 2007, Children's performed 309 minimally invasive procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab and 461 heart surgeries.

Cystic Fibrosis
Care at Children's of Minnesota for patients with cystic fibrosis ranks among the top 10 programs nationally in lung function and nutrition, key health outcomes for this chronic illness. Children's Cystic Fibrosis Program, a partner with the University of Minnesota Cystic Fibrosis Center, is one of 168 national cystic fibrosis centers with pediatric patients. Accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis centers meet stringent criteria and provide high-quality, specialized care.

Hematology and Oncology
Children's Hematology/Oncology program is a leading pediatric cancer center, diagnosing and treating more than two-thirds of all children with cancer in Minnesota, and producing survival outcomes that are consistently superior to national averages. In addition, 85 percent of the state's children with blood disorders are cared for here.

McNeely Pediatric Diabetes
The McNeely Pediatric Diabetes Center is the only diabetes center in the region to specialize in treating only children, teens, and their families. In 2005, 1,160 children, including 153 new patients with Type I diabetes, were diagnosed and received care through the McNeely Pediatric Diabetes Center at Children's. In addition, the Center has also received recognition for its diabetes education program from the American Diabetes Association, by meeting the association's high educational standards.

Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU)
At our two hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Children's cares for more babies born prematurely or with special needs than any other health care organization in Minnesota. Overall, Children's NICU outcomes are in the top 25 percent of newborn intensive care units (NICUs) nationally and internationally.

Pain, Palliative, and Hospice Care Programs
These programs provide comprehensive, coordinated services for children with acute and chronic pain as well as for children diagnosed with life-limiting or terminal conditions. With a solution-seeking, multi-disciplinary team, we aspire to ensure that every child in pain will be assessed and appropriately managed – day or night – seven days a week, 365 days a year.
