If urine is analyzed and shows evidence of a metabolic abnormality, it is recommended a serum sample be collected and tested at an additional fee (same charge as the urine). This will be discussed with the lab and ordering provider. This situation is rare.

Please note if the patient is currently on Urso or Actigall and if the patient has been ill within the past month with specific dates if possible. It is recommended that patients be off these two drugs for at least 5 days before specimen collection. Also provide a brief clinical history and preliminary diagnosis.
