Test Indications:
|
Useful for the evaluation of nutritional status and renal disease. Albumin is the most abundant plasma protein accounting for approximately one half of the plasma protien mass. Albumin is a significant component of most extravascular body fluids. The primary function of albumin is generally considered to be the maintenance of colloidal osmotic pressure in both the vascular and extravascular spaces.
