Specimen

Specimen Type:

Blood

Container:

Red top tube
Alternate: Green (Lithium Heparin) tube

Draw Volume:

6 mL blood

Processed Volume:

2 mL (Minimum: 0.2 mL) serum/plasma

Note: Submission of the minimum volume results in an elevated reporting limit and inability to repeat analysis.

Collection:

Routine venipuncture

Mislabeled or unlabeled specimens

Interpretive

Reference Range:

10.0 - 35.0 ug/mL

Therapeutic efficacy has been demonstrated in patients with trough 10-hydroxy metabolite concentrations of 10 - 35 ug/mL. Toxic concentrations have not been established.

Critical Values:

N/A

Limitations:

Reporting limit: 2.0 ug/mL

Methodology:

High Turbulence Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy (HTLC-MS/MS)
