|
Lactate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that is found in almost all body tissues. LD is used as a general marker of injury to cells. LD is used to diagnose myocardial infarction, hepatic congestion, severe shock, renal disease, progressive muscular dystrophy, and pulmonary embolism.
