Staining of red cells for aggregates of denatured hemoglobin (Heinz bodies).

Test Indications:
|
Evaluate hemolytic anemias with RBC enzyme deficiencies (eg, GG PD deficiency), hemoglobin, congenital Heinz Body hemolytic anemia (CHBHA). Perform when many “bite cells” are seen on routine peripheral smears.
