Test Availability:

Monday - Friday. Specimen must be obtained and submitted between 6:30 AM and 4 PM unless prior arrangement is made.

Special Instructions:

Complete a “Surgical Pathology/ Cytology Request Form” and/or a “Bronchoscopy/Airway Request Form” with pertinent clinical information, and forward it with the specimen.

Collection:

Cytology washings should be collected by a physician. Washings collected during the endoscopic examination should be collected fresh (unfixed) in a screw capped, sterile container.
