Collection:
|
Aseptically collect skin biopsy as soon as possible after delivery. Biopsy should be taken from back, buttocks, or armpit and should be approximately 3 m in size. Place biopsy in a screw-capped, sterile container with sterile saline or RPMI media. Also, a piece of placenta containing chorionic villi must accompany the fetal biopsy. Place placenta specimen in a separate screw-capped, sterile container or RPMI media. Refrigerate specimens after collection. Specimens cannot be frozen. Forward promptly.
