A high resolution study is performed on specimens suspected of having subtle structural chromosome changes.

Request form must include date and time of specimen collection, attending physician, diagnosis (or reason for referral), clinical status, information regarding medication or transfusions, and specimen type.
Obtain Sodium Heparin tube prior to collecting the specimen.

Methodology:
|
72 hour PHA stimulated culture with chromosome analysis. Additional methods as determined by Laboratory Director based on clinical information and findings.

Contraindications:
|
Specimens failing to achieve necessary band length will default to a standard chromosome analysis.
