Note:
● Paired specimens, both acute and convalescent sera are strongly recommended.
● Label specimens appropriately (ie, unpaired: acute or convalescent or paired: paired acute and paired convalescent.)
● If paired specimens are submitted, separate accession numbers are required.
● Appropriately labeled paired specimens received together will be analyzed on the same run and charged separately.
● Specimens sent separately will be run and charged separately.

Reference Range:
|
The positive cutoff has been set to the equivalent for an IFA titer of 1:256. If only one specimen is submitted, a positive is presumptive supporting evidence of exposure.

|
Limitations:
|
This system tests for Legionella pneumophila serogroups 1-6. It does not test for nonpneumophila, or atypical, Legionella species. A diagnosis should not be made on the basis of anit-Legionella serology results alone; test results should be interpreted in conjunction with the clinical evaluation and other diagnostic procedures.

Methodology:
|
Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
