Test Includes:

Quantitation of urinary mucopolysaccharides. (This provides an extensive analysis of gags and includes glycosaminoglycans – measured by uronic acid and specific assay for heparin sulfate and electrophoresis which provides separation of each of the gag components).

Urine glycosaminoglycan studies may be used for the monitoring of patients who have been treated for mucopolysaccharidoses.

Lab Staff: Store urine frozen and shipped on dry ice by overnight express to the laboratory. Ship Sunday-Wednesday (with exception of holidays).
