What is family-centered care?
At the very heart of family-centered care is the recognition that family is the constant in a child’s life. With this, Children’s staff understand that each family has an important role on their child’s health care team.
Family-centered care is more than treating a child’s family well. Children’s goes further to respect and recognize that both staff and family bring knowledge, skills, and experience to caring for
a child.
The core concepts of family-centered care are:
- Choice
- Collaboration
