The Reverend Dee Moore, Chaplain. Dee has been part of the Chaplaincy Department at Children's Hospital and Clinics since January 2001. She worked one year in the Minneapolis Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and is currently working on the St. Paul campus where she is assigned to provide chaplaincy services to the NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Station 3200.

Dee has a nursing background, having received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and studied further at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, earning a Master's of Public Health degree. Work in public health took her to a migrant health program in northern Michigan, a public health agency in Detroit, and to the Ramsey County Nursing Service in St. Paul. A strong sense of call to ministry later in life brought Dee to begin a new career and studies at Bethel Theological Seminary, where she earned a Master of Divinity degree. Her clinical pastoral education was completed at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, with assignments in the AIDS clinic and program, an oncology unit, and Women Care. Dee continues to facilitate the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group at ANW.

Ordination was received through the National Association of Christian Congregational Churches and Colonial Church of Edina. To work with children and their families has been her passion. It brought her to work at Children's Hospitals and Clinics as a chaplain.

You can reach Dee at (651) 220-6527.

The Reverend Sherry Braun, M. Div., Chaplain. Sherry has been a chaplain on the Minneapolis campus since 1990. She works primarily in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and on 7th floor, but has served on almost all patient care areas at one time or another. She was very involved in the development of the Healing Quilt bereavement program, served as coordinator for bereavement follow-up and presently co-chairs the Bereavement Council. In the past, Sherry served on the Ethics Committee and on the Institutional Review Board. Sherry often facilitates grief support groups for siblings, parents, and grandparents through the Healing Quilt program.

Sherry graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1976 with a BA in nursing. Working in pediatrics at the University of Minnesota led her to consider a different avenue of ministry and she received her Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary in New Brighton, MN in 1983. After ordination the following year by the United Church of Christ, Sherry served as a parish pastor in Pennsylvania for four years. Specialized chaplaincy training included residencies at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, and at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.

Sherry was able to go on mission trips to Honduras through the International Health Service and is hoping to rekindle her Spanish skills in the near future in order to better serve Children’s Spanish speaking families. The arrival of her daughter Kira in 1994 interrupted Sherry’s travels for the present but Kira has been her life’s richest blessing.

You can reach Sherry at (612) 813-6805.
