Thank God For Kids

The Sunder family

I will never forget the day last September when we found out our 4 year old Natalie had Leukemia. Natalie had been complaining for a couple of months that her back was hurting. We had been told on a couple of different visits to her primary doctor that it was just a sore muscle and it would heal itself.

So when we eventually found out that it was Leukemia, we were in shock! Not only was this diagnosis devastating to our family, but just a little over a year ago Natalie's dad, Pat, had been diagnosed with Nodular Melanoma Cancer. He is currently going through treatment.

The first couple of months of Natalie's treatment were really hard. Besides all the chemotherapy treatments she was getting, Natalie also developed pancreatits, which was a rare side effect from one of the drugs she was taking.

During all this turmoil and Natalie being a patient at Children's, we heard about this wonderful program. The Cancer Kids Fund really helped our family out during this major crisis we were dealing with by paying our home mortgage for the month of November. This was a blessing for us since Pat was missing a lot of work so that he could be by Natalie's side.

Thank you Cancer Kids Fund!
