Leukemia/Lymphoma Program at Children’s

Children’s treatment results for leukemias and lymphomas consistently rank among the leading U.S. hospitals participating in the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program.

The leukemia/lymphoma program at Children’s is the largest in Minnesota and one of the largest in the Upper Midwest. We diagnose and treat children with all types of leukemia and lymphoma, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Our multidisciplinary team includes pediatric specialists from a wide variety of disciplines, including radiation oncology, surgery, anesthesia, pain management, psychology, pharmacy, exercise medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, and others.

Leukemia/lymphoma research

The leukemia/lymphoma program offers access to a variety of clinical trials and new experimental agents. For example, as a founding member in the Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia (TACL) consortium and member of the global research cooperative Children’s Oncology Group, we treat children—especially those who have struggled with relapses—with new experimental drugs such as ABT-751, Combotoxin, and Bortezomib.
