Meeting Minutes
January 3, 2006
Present: Paula Condol, Kathleen Inwood, Carolyn Green, Amy Russell, Darcy Komejan, Monica Maurer, Mark Zimmerer, Kim Martinez, Jay Wood, Brenda Nelson, Sue Tesdahl, Jan Lutz, Jane Braun, Anne Cherek

Agenda:
- Jane stated that Chapter Grants will come out every fall so that everyone knows if they receive funds by the end of each year. Remaining confirmation letters for this year will be sent out this week.
- RCAC’s continue to work on an MOU with the intent on signing a completed MOU in Salt Lake City, UT at the end of the month at the next BOD meeting.
- Jane reported that she will be going to San Diego at the end of the month for the national conference. Several others on the Advisory Board also indicated that they will be in attendance.
- Kim reported that she is currently putting together a resource manual containing book resources, protocol templates, etc. Once completed, this manual will be posted on the MRCAC website. Additions will be continually added as needed.
- NCA grant applications format will be changing from Adobe so that you will be able to type and submit forms electronically without losing any information, as in the past.
- Kim reminded everyone that 2006 NCA n.e.t. package was sent out to all member sites. The calendar and list of calls/topics can be found on the MRCAC website as well. Jane also reminded everyone that every education call is recorded and if you are not able to attend calls, these tapes may be borrowed from us for training purposes. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome.
- Kim also mentioned that beginning this month each state chapter has an opportunity to meet one on one with NCA on any specific topic (funding, membership, standards, etc) via videoconference. Please let Kim know if you’d like your chapter to sign up.
State Updates:
Indiana: Jan reported that IN is continually to work with their Dept. of Children Services. They are expected to meet with them later this month to discuss the success of CAC’s across the state.
Iowa: Sue thanked everyone for encouraging their chapter presidents for voting in Kathy Leggitt to the NCA Board. An all chapter retreat is being scheduled for June. Chapter grant funds were requested for this retreat.
Kansas: Kathleen reported that in February a meeting will be scheduled for director’s to meet one another.
Michigan: Darcy reported that new chapter elections are being held later this month, and that the state has a lot of new director’s so training has been done and also planned.
Minnesota: Amy reported that the chapter just completed a retreat in December. There are 3 developing centers across the state and also working on how to best help MDT’s statewide.
Missouri: Jay reported that their board is in the process of getting restructured in the area of state funding and legislative endeavors and members who can contribute strongly to these areas. As a state network, they are trying to develop a state website and other promotional materials, including a new state logo, and statewide standards concerning CAC’s.
North Dakota: Paula reported that they are getting ready for an APRI conference later in the month. They are also putting together a CAC handbook for prosecutors, on CD. They are also working on the summit for this summer as well.
Nebraska: Mark reported that they held a state retreat in December. A mission statement, legislative agenda, etc were established during the retreat. NE received state funding ($500,000) to use for the CAC’s.
South Dakota: Monica reported that they are planning a retreat for the summer and a new CAC is opening next week.
Wisconsin: Brenda reported that they had a summit last month with 150 attendees.
