State Updates:

KS: Amy reported that the chapter should hear about the $1 million dollar funding proposal the chapter hopes to receive from the state, today. Final funding decisions will be made within the next few weeks.

WI: Brenda reported that they have a chapter meeting this month. They will be discussing the Pinwheel For Prevention Program, modeled after the program in OH.

MI: Jerre reported that they are trying to get a chapter coordinator and state funding. The chapter will host a legislative reception at the Capitol this month on the 26th. It’s an opportunity to meet and discuss with the state legislators.

ND: Paula reported that the chapter has been working to get $500,000 from the legislator but the proposed amount has been cut in half to $250,000. Final decision on the funds has not been made yet. The next chapter meeting is in three weeks.

IA: Sue reported that the chapter met last week, and the state-allotted $1million dollars is back in the state budget and will hopefully be disbursed as it was last year. 3 of 4 CAC’s are looking at new locations and possible fund raising efforts to support a move. Each move is hoping to be completed by the end of the year.

SD: Steve reported the chapter has a state- wide retreat in June and Cathy Crabtree will be facilitating.
