Advisory Board Call Meeting Minutes

September 11, 2007

Present: Stacie Papineau, Jay Wood, Amy Boydston, Tom Frost, Ben Murray, Ivy Riveland, Monica Maurer, Kim Martinez, Jane Braun, Anne Cherek

Agenda:

1. NCA Grants: formatting issues

a. Jane reported that NCA has been getting questions on the RFP’s about where placement of the goals, objectives and performance measures

b. NCA recommendations are as follows: goals, objectives and performance measures are best put in the most appropriate section of the narrative, appropriate to the type of grant report you’re writing. You can also list these items in the timeline section.

2. NCA BOD elections: Biographies were sent out for an At-Large and Law Enforcement position. Gene Klein (NE), nominated by Mark Zimmerer and Jean Philippe Riguad (OH), nominated by MaryAnn Donnelly, CAC Director,  Helen Carrocci, Board President, A Caring Place Child Advocacy Center, Wintersville, OH. NCA nomination ballots should be coming out the 1st half of November. Jane has asked that every chapter send an email or letter out to their Accredited members, with the bios of the Advisory Board supported nominees, asking for their supporting votes when the ballots come out. (Only accredited members are allowed to vote).

3. Chapter Summit: Kim reported that were several people not registered for the Chapter Summit according to NCA. Kim has asked that everyone double check to make sure they are registered to attend with NCA.

4. NCA chapter Newsletter: Anne reported that so far 6 states and NACA have sent in their chapter summaries for Jane to submit in the fall NCA newsletter. If you have not yet done so, please email your chapter summaries to Anne ASAP.

State Update:

MO: Jay Wood stated that MO got an appropriation of $300,000 to support their Safe Care physicians in the state that do sexual abuse exams. There are 3 hospitals in the state that will be allotted funds.
