Agenda:
Grant Funds: the current fiscal year funds have been approved but not dispersed yet. Our next fiscal year that begins Aug 1, 2008, grants will increase by $200,000/region.
Ben Murray: has accepted the position as the Western Regional Project Director. His last day as the director for ONCAC will be January 22nd. A replacement for Ben has not yet been decided.
NDAA/Court Prep Training: The first of this new series was held Jan 3-5, 2008 and was well received. The next training session will be April 10-12, 2008 in Minnesota and will have tuition assessed. The tuition has yet to be determined. Limited scholarships will be available again. The training in MN will again be limited to DA’s, PA’s, MD’s and NP’s- and not RN’s or SANE’s- as Physical Abuse will be covered during this training, and is not as professionally helpful to SANE’s as much as sole sexual abuse topics are. However, later this year this training will be offered in Colorado Springs, CO which will be geared towards SANE’s and RN’s. The dates for the Colorado training sessions are May 8-10, 2008 and December 4-6, 2008. Contact the WRCAC to register for the May and December sessions.
Government CAC Summit: the Midwest has 4 slots open to attend in March in Hawaii.
Accreditation Bootcamp: Please remind your CACs that the next Bootcamp is in Huntsville, AL February 19-20, 2008. So far there are only 4 Midwest participants signed up. This is for both initial and re-accreditation. There is space still available. Please contact the Southern Regional Office to register.
