Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
February 5, 2008
Present: Jane Braun, Anne Cherek, Kim Martinez, Tom Frost, Darcy Komejan, Sara Schumacher, Monica Maurer, Paula Condol, Jay Wood, Jan Lutz, Ivy Riveland

Agenda:
1. New NCA Director: Jane reported that Teresa Huizar has accepted the position as the new NCA Director. Teresa will begin officially in February.
2. Video lending library, digital library, Journal club: Jane reminded the board to utilize these available resources as much as possible. CEUs can be obtained through most of these resources. Jane also told the board that MRCAC is looking into using an online streaming program for peer review activities; a questionnaire will be sent out to get interest estimates from our region.
3. Chapter MOU: Jane told the board that a template for a Chapter MOU is posted on the MRCAC website for each chapter’s use, under “References”. This is meant to be a guide to help meet the standard for an MOU for chapter accreditation. There are “blanks” in the template where chapters should fill in their respective state’s information.
4. Gap Analysis: Jane reported the WRCAC completed a Gap Analysis report, which states: organization structure by state, state statistics by NCA status and Midwest states service coverage. This report is posted on the MRCAC website under “References”.
5. CAC status: After reviewing the Gap Analysis, Kim recognized some discrepancies in the numbers and would like to verify with everyone membership within their states. Kim asked each chapter to send her a list of CACs in their respective states and their NCA membership level.
6. Chapter Stipends: $5000 will be awarded to the chapters. The application is due April 1, 2008. You will be notified of approval by April 15, 2008. Stipends must be spent by July 31, 2008. The application is posted on the MRCAC website entitled “Chapter/CAC Stipend Application” under “Funding”. |
