Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
December 2, 2008
Present: Amy Boydston, Susan Ginder, Libby Nicholson, Jan Lutz, Ivy Riveland, Monica Maurer, Tom Frost, Sara Schumacher, Jay Wood, Billie Larkin, Paula Condol, Stacie Papineau, Dory Vasquez-Nolan, Anne Cherek, Jane Braun

Agenda:
- Jane reported that our new grant funds have not been dispersed to date. Most likely it is due to the election year and “business as usual” is not occurring quite yet.
- The Telehealth Institute will begin Feb 1st 2009.
- Jane requested Chapters with paid coordinator positions to contract with individual members to work with them on site reviews when struggling or when not passing a site review, to assist the Regional in meeting their needs. All the Chapters want to help and agreed they wanted to be involved.
State Updates:
Kansas: the chapter approved their first (short-term) strategic plan. In two weeks the chapter will hold their first new director meeting.
Minnesota: Susan Ginder told that Patty Miller former Fist Witness Dir. was convicted in Federal Court for $200,000.00 in theft she pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing but will be going to prison
Ohio: The chapter is meeting regularly, but their state funding ends in 6 months and the chapter is trying to figure out what the next step will be as an organization.
Indiana: Children’s Justice Act money proposals due today. The chapter is also looking forward to reeiving more funds for CAC's
Nebraska: BOD meeting takes place this week to review trainings for the next year as well as meet with new directors & coordinators.
South Dakota: The chapter hired a contracted chapter coordinator
Wisconsin: The chapter is in a state of flux with rapid growth but differences in opinion on the chapter’s future.
Missouri: Director’s are meeting next week, and a new executive board was recently elected. The chapter will begin to look at best practices for CACs throughout the state.
Illinois: The chapter will convene a think date with CAC directors to look at new avenues of funding, organizational capacity, and ways to cut costs. A code of ethics for CACs will also be discussed. The chapter is also holding a new director’s training tomorrow to discuss financial management and stress management.
North Dakota: The new chapter website will be up by the end of the year.
Iowa: The chapter is meeting with Visual Share to introduce the CACs to the telehealth program software. They are looking for legal assistance to help with the chapter’s 501c3.
