- Kim discussed that the Mental Health survey is complete, but that we may be sending out a few follow-up questions to the survey before releasing it. It will likely be posted on our website within the month
- Telehealth Institute is now scheduled to begin February 15, 2009. The medical panel of expert medical reviewers met in January and all 14 expert reviewers signed up to participate in peer review and mentoring. Any questions related to Telehealth can be directed to Anne or Jane.
- Bootcamp this month in Hunstville is full. The second bootcamp will be Nov 10-11, 2009. The location has not been finalized, but will likely be in Providence, Rhode Island. A reminder that Teresa Huizar is presenting the new standards on NCA n.e.t. education calls, in three parts, if you would like to attend. You may access her January presentation on streaming archives listed on our website. You may also borrow the video by contacting Anne.
- Jane wanted to let everyone know that she has identified a trend in our region regarding sites not passing accreditation. She has found it is largely due to protocol errors, mainly in written documentation. Please be aware that the regional office may have samples for centers to utilize if they need help creating these documents. Additionally, the regional office is always available to look over your accreditation book before sending to NCA to be sure you are not missing documentation, etc.
- Per a question from Jan Lutz regarding chapter accreditation and its process, Irina Hein from NCA relayed the following information:
1. There is no accreditation fee for chapters.
2. Chapters will receive an application form from NCA
3. NCA will be following up with all the centers and chapters by the end
of February to schedule or confirm site review dates.
