Nancy Sommers is thrilled to be back home at Children’s. She started her career with a research project at Children’s – Minneapolis during her last year of pharmacy school and always felt at home here. “The warmth, professionalism and single purpose of all the staff make it an incredible place to practice and to be a part of.” Nancy Sommers is currently the Primary Pharmacist for the inpatient hematology/oncology unit Children’s. Nancy is a graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy where she received her PharmD degree in 1993. She also studied at the College of St Benedict in pre-pharmacy and English studies..

Following her initial research project, Nancy completed a fellowship at Children’s – Minneapolis and stayed on as a Clinical Pharmacist in Hematology/Oncology and later transitioned to Clinical Leader for Med/Surg/Hem/Onc. Nancy has also worked at Fairview University Medical Center, the International Poison Center, and for Pharmacia Corporation and Novartis Corporation as a Medical Science Liaison.
