A DVD of the April 29, 2008 teleconference entitled SIDS & Safe Infant Sleep: From the Newborn Nursery to Home is now available from the MN SID Center. This teleconference for newborn nursery staff and public health nurses included presentations by a medical examiner, a medical director of special care nursery, and the director of the MN SID Center.
The manual Modeling Safe Infant Sleep Practices: Developing Partnerships Between Public Health and the Newborn Nursery includes resource articles, bibliography, national and state data, and a sample nursery policy. It addresses issues such as co-bedding twins, bed sharing, breastfeeding and use of maternal medications, as well as strategies to create staff compliance with best practice.
