AAP Reaffirms Policy on SIDS

On January 1, 2009, the American Academy of Pediatrics published a statement of reaffirmation for the Policy Statement “The Changing Concept of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome: Diagnostic Coding Shifts, Controversies Regarding the Sleeping Environment, and New Variables to Consider in Reducing Risk”. According to the AAP website, policy statements automatically expire 5 years after publication unless reaffirmed, revised, or retired at or before that time. Click here to view the reaffirmed policy.
