Services

Inpatient and outpatient care to young people between the ages of 10 and 22.

  • Primary medical services include:
    – physical exams
    – asthma
    – dermatological conditions
    – birth control education, counseling, and examinations
    – pregnancy testing and counseling
    – risk assessment, counseling, testing, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
  • Nutrition services include:
    – weight gain or loss
    – sports nutrition
  • Counseling services on an individual or family basis surrounding:
    – anxiety and depression
    – developmental issues
    – chemical use assessments
    – complex medical and emotional concerns
    – parent guidance
    - relationship issues (peer and family)
  • Satellite clinic in the Southwest High School Health Center, Minneapolis.
  • Web site, Teen Health, is a collaboration with Children’s, West Suburban Teen Clinic, and The Annex Teen Clinic in Hennepin County. Primarily for teens, the site includes information about teen health issues, adolescent development, community and Web resources, and clinic services for teens and parents.
  • Just Between Us, a three-session forum for 9- to 12-year-old girls and their mothers, provides an opportunity for mothers and daughters to strengthen their bond as they anticipate the girls’ physical and emotional changes. Call (612) 813-6844 for upcoming schedules.
  • The Encourage program provides peer support for teens and young adults who are diagnosed with a chronic or life threatening illness or serious medical condition. Knowing someone the same age with an illness can help teens cope with medical treatments, hospitalizations, and the challenges of living with an illness. Call (651) 220-6766.
  • Education and outreach programs are available to teens and parents in Minneapolis. Presentations may be provided by a health educator or be provided collaboratively between adolescent peer educators and a health educator. Call (612) 813-6844. Available in English and Spanish.
