Jim Ryan: A Champion for Children’s

Jim Ryan, CEO of Ryan Companies US, Inc., and former board and foundation chair, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, believed sick children deserve loving, gentle, and superb care. He translated his beliefs into strong leadership and vigorous action.

In this same spirit, Jim fused his expertise into Children’s largest development and expansion project in our history. His belief that children deserve the best patient care in the finest environment will be seen for generations to come.

In addition to his board membership at Children's, Jim had served as past board chair of Benilde-St. Margaret's High School and Community Loan Technology, has served as a member of the Minneapolis Foundation and Amicus; and had served as co-chair of the Parent's Council for St. Mary's Notre Dame. A Notre Dame alumnus, he also served on the board of Notre Dame School of Architecture and has worked in many capacities for United Way.

On behalf of our staff, patients, and the community, we are honored to have known Jim and are grateful recipients of the gifts he left us. We will never forget him.
