On August 11, Children’s Foundation held their bi-monthly presentation series, Behind the Stars, at Children’s-St. Paul. David Schmeling, MD, Children’s Chief of Surgery, presented on cutting-edge technologies and procedures in pediatric surgery, such as robotic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, as well as fetal surgery.
Following the presentation, guests went behind the scenes for an operating room tour, fully dressed in surgical gowns, hats, and masks for a more authentic experience.
Sarah Schwab, RN, BSN, MA, a patient care manager at Children’s, led the tours.
More than 30 photos from the tour are posted on Children’s Fan page on Facebook. If you have troubles accessing the page, simply search ‘Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota’ after logging in (and don’t forget to become a ‘fan’ of Children’s!).
