Alan L. Goldbloom, MD
President and Chief Executive Officer
Alan L. Goldbloom, MD, has been President and CEO of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota since 2003. Prior to joining Children’s, Dr. Goldbloom served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He also directed residency-training programs in pediatrics, and served as chairman of the examining board in pediatrics for The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Goldbloom is a 1973 graduate of the medical school at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He practiced pediatrics in Nova Scotia, where he also served on the faculty at Dalhousie University. He then served as Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto, and Associate Pediatrician-in-Chief at The Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Goldbloom serves on the boards of Child Health Corporation of America (CHCA), the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI), the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA), the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Minneapolis Community and Technical College Foundation.

David A. Brumbaugh
Vice President Human Resources
David A. Brumbaugh joined Children’s as Vice President of Human Resources in 2003. Prior to joining Children’s, he had served as vice president of human resources at Cigna Health Care and vice president of human resources for the Honeywell, Inc. - Space and Aviation Control Strategic Business Unit in Phoenix, Arizona.

Maria C. Christu, JD
General Counsel
Maria C. Christu became Children’s first general counsel in 2003. She oversees legal services, risk management, and compliance. Previously, Ms. Christu was associate general counsel at UnitedHealth Group.

Phillip Kibort, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs
Dr. Phillip Kibort was vice president of system advancement at Children’s of Minnesota from 1996-2002. He became Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs in 2002. Dr. Kibort was a pediatric gastroenterologist at Minnesota Gastroenterology from 1982-1994. He has written and published on issues of management and quality in health care, and teaches on medical quality to health care providers at the University of St. Thomas in the Twin Cities. Dr. Kibort graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital followed by a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center.

Ginger Malone, MSN, RN
Chief Nursing Officer
Ginger Malone is the Chief Nursing Officer and began working at Children’s in 2002. As CNO, she has accountability for nursing practice and care standards, advance practice nursing strategy, nursing research and informatics, nursing professional practice, leadership and development, interdisciplinary coordination, Child/Family Experience, and relationships with colleges, universities, and professional associations. Ms. Malone led the organization to achieving Magnet status designation for nursing excellence from the ANCC. She is also the president of Minnesota Organization of Leadership in Nursing for District G and serves on the board of the Twin Cities Ronald McDonald House.

Jerry Massmann, MBA, CPA, BS
Chief Financial Officer
Jerry Massmann has served as Children’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since January 1995. Prior to working at Children’s, Mr. Massmann served as vice president and CFO at MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Washington. Jerry’s community service has included board memberships with The Bridge for Runaway Youth and VocalEssence.

David S. Overman
Chief Operating Officer
David S. Overman began serving as Chief Operating Officer for Children’s in October 2008. Mr. Overman joined Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in October of 2005 as Chief Information Officer. He most recently served as vice president of information systems at Express Scripts, a large national company that manages pharmacy benefits. During his 10 years at Express Scripts, he led an information technology staff of more than 800 employees.

Theresa Pesch
Executive Director, Children’s Foundation, and
Vice President, Development, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota
Theresa Pesch joined Children’s in February 2007. Ms. Pesch was previously at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, where she served as vice president of marketing and development and executive director of the Ridgeview Foundation, and where she successfully led a major capital campaign. In addition to being an accomplished fundraiser, she has an impressive record of community leadership that has included serving as chair of the Waconia Chamber of Commerce and school board chair, as well as serving on the boards of numerous business and professional organizations. Ms. Pesch originally trained in nursing.
