Risk of prolonged hospital stay

A prolonged length of stay may indicate complications. Children's has a shorter length of stay than the average PHIS hospital for appendectomy patients both with and without rupture.

This measure uses data from the Pediatric Health Information System (PHIS). PHIS is a comprehensive comparative pediatric database of 42 children's hospitals that evaluates clinical and financial details of more than six million patient cases.
