Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the site of pediatric training for the one-year ACGME-accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship through the University of Minnesota. The fellowship offers a specific pediatric emphasis for those interested in primarily caring for pediatric patients in their future career. Training aims to provide physicians with advanced skills in holistic, multidisciplinary care for children and teens with life-limiting or terminal diseases and their families. As Children's Hospital has one of the few combined pain, palliative care and integrative medicine departments in the country, the curriculum has a particular focus on state-of-the-art pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic symptom management. One fellow per year is accepted for the pediatric emphasis program.
