Resources and fun opportunities for children and familiesThe Sibling Play Areas
A unique service Children’s offers, that not many pediatric hospitals offer. Brothers, sisters, cousins, or other kids who get tired of visiting can be signed into Sibling Play. It's a great place for kids to play and run off energy during their visits, yet not feel left out of what's going on in your family.
Kids Clubhouse TV Show
Kids Clubhouse is a live, interactive program filmed on-location in Children's - Minneapolis for patients and their families. Join Host Laura and The Dude, professional actors who host an entertaining variety show featuring games, stories, and music. Join the live studio audience on the first floor lobby of the Minneapolis campus or call in from the Minneapolis or St. Paul hospital campus during the show at 5-5555. Kids Clubhouse airs from 11 a.m. - noon every Tuesday and Thursday. All are welcome!
The Family Resource Center
Staffed with supportive, caring professionals who assist families with services such as: consumer and safety information, parenting information and resources, access to computers, pager and digital camera checkout, and more.
Helping make every child’s health care experience a positive one. They work with children and adolescents to minimize the stress children can feel during hospital stays or visits to the clinics, emergency rooms, radiology, or surgery areas.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for patients at Children’s.
Fun activities with volunteers from around the community
There are several fun activities children can take part in with volunteers from the community. Some of the fun includes playing Bingo with MN Wild Hockey players and their families, and coming to the visits from the Minnesota Zoo, and more.
Opportunities for families to recognize their caregiversAt Children’s, there are opportunities available for families to recognize caregivers who have had an influence on their child’s care. Below are some of the ways families can recognize their caregivers if they chose:
Champions for Children’s
Recognizes a special group of employees nominated by staff or families for demonstrating leadership, supporting the Children’s Service Standards, and implementing innovative ideas, or exemplifying service or quality.
Family-Centered Care Award
Gives families an opportunity to recognize and honor care providers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to family-centered care.
The DAISY Award For Nurses Exemplifying Compassionate Care
DAISY Award honorees personify Children’s of Minnesota’s remarkable patient experiences. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their extraordinary compassionate care and clinical expertise, and they are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
