Editor’s Note: As mentioned on our blog last week, we’re excited to introduce Kristi Kehrwald as the newest member of the Children’s Volunteer Services team! Below is a brief introduction from Kristi, in her own words!
“Hi! My name is Kristi Kehrwald, and I am very excited to have joined the Volunteer Services team at Children’s Hospital, working as a Volunteer Coordinator on the St. Paul Campus. It’s been incredible to meet so many amazing volunteers, and to learn about the awesome work that you do here at the hospital!
I attended the University of Minnesota-Morris as an undergraduate, studying Political Science and International Studies. Following graduation, I completed three years of National Service through AmeriCorps VISTA and NCCC (the National Civilian Community Corps). These years of service involved work in a wide variety of settings, from a disaster response assignment in Texas to an organic farm in Hawaii to building homes with Habitat for Humanity in the Gulf Coast region. Most recently, I recruited and led AmeriCorps VISTAs with Habitat for Humanity in Minnesota. I’ve lived in Minneapolis for a year and continue to love exploring new places, events and areas of the Cities: feel free to share your favorites with me!
I have really loved working with volunteers over the past several years, and am SO excited to be joining the Children’s Hospital Volunteer Services team! Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome already!”
Welcome to Children’s, Kristi! We’re happy to have you onboard!
