DAISY Award Winners Recognized 04/30/2008 — Congratulations to Children’s first three DAISY award winners! The awards were given out to nursing staff during the weeks of April 14th and 22nd. Each nurse was presented with the award during a surprise ceremony on the unit.
Speakers Bureau to Target Nurse Audiences By Lynn Eidahl
04/18/2008 — Children’s Nursing Outreach is working to increase nursing participation in Children’s Speakers Bureau to include more hands-on nurse experts (RNs and Advanced Practice RNs) to speak to nursing audiences. The number of requests for nurses to speak on various neonatal and pediatric topics continues to grow.
"Hands-Only" Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by Laure Orgon, MA, RN 04/10/2008 — Many of you may have heard recent reports in the news stating the American Heart Association (AHA) recently released information indicating that hands-only CPR works as well as standard CPR for sudden cardiac arrest in adults. Children’s has received a few questions regarding this for our Basic Life Support classes. After reviewing the information and consulting with our AHA-certified instructors, Children’s is still recommending the standard BLS procedure for children in or out of a hospital setting.
