Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota treats nearly 90,000 kids in our emergency departments every year – roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Duluth!
Through the generosity of the community, we are proud to provide world-class care to every child who comes through our doors, including leading the way in pediatric emergency medicine. Here are just a few ways supporters like you are making a difference for kids in our community:
Level I Trauma Center
Children’s is on pace to be Minnesota’s first Level I Trauma Center in a pediatric hospital. Research shows kids treated at a pediatric hospital experience better outcomes than patients treated at adult hospitals. As a Level I Trauma Center, Children’s will be prepared to care for the kids from around the region in need of emergency care, ranging from simple procedures to the most complex patients.
No Needless Pain
Coming to the hospital – even for something routine – can be scary. But, it shouldn’t scar kids for life. Children’s is making sure kids who visit our emergency department experience no needless pain. Simply blowing bubbles or using numbing cream before a needle prick can make owies feel better in no time.
Making Safe Simple
While we love kids, we’d rather see them safe at home. We are working to educate kids and parents on how to stay safe through community outreach efforts surrounding car seat safety, ATV safety, wheeled sport safety, household safety and fall prevention.
With the support of community members like you, Children’s is able to provide the best care for kids. Thank you for helping us help kids!
