Summer Program Requirements

Between March 1 and April 1, we accept applications for our summer volunteer program. 

2013 Summer Program:  Summer applications will ONLY be accepted during a four-week period, opening at 8 am on Friday, March 1 and closing at 8 am on Monday, April 1.  Please plan accordingly:  applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.

Qualifications for the summer volunteer program:

  1. Applications must be complete and are due by April 1.
  2. Applicants must be at least 14 years old by the April 1 application deadline.
  3. The summer volunteer program runs from June-August; exact start dates are flexible, and volunteers may start earlier if their schedules allow.  A maximum of 2 planned absences are allowed:  No Exceptions. If you will miss more than 2 weeks, we ask that you not apply.
  4. Due to a limited number of volunteer positions, as well as first priority for scheduling going to current Children’s Hospital volunteers, we cannot guarantee applicants a position even if they meet all of the above criteria.

Getting Started:

Please review the "Application Requirements" link on our Volunteer Services homepage. You may submit your online application anytime between 8 am on March 1 and 8 am on April 1.  We will begin contacting summer applicants after April 1 to set up interviews. Due to the number of summer applications that we receive, please allow 2-3 weeks after this deadline to hear from our office regarding your interview status.
