Children's - St. Paul Pediatric Critical Care Unit

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children's - St. Paul provides 12 staffed beds for critically ill children of ages one month to 20 years.  The unit handles all forms of medical and surgical illnesses, including cardiac and respiratory failure, neurological deterioration, metabolic problems, and multi-system trauma.  Specialized services include but are not limited to non-invasive and invasive hemodynamic, respiratory and neurological monitoring, a full complement of medical and surgical sub-specialists for consultation on any pediatric specialty problem, and isolation capability for infectious diseases.
