Join us for Children's Starry Night event

Creative arts – particularly painting – have always been an important part of 10-year-old Angelina Wollan’s life. Yet, never did Angelina, or her family, imagine just how important the arts could be in her healing journey.

Over the past five years, Angelina has been a patient at Children’s multiple times for an unknown chronic airway disease. Her hospital stays typically last weeks – sometimes even months. During that time, Children’s launched the “Arts & Healing and Urban Renewal Project. Founded on a belief that a healing environment encompasses more than just medical treatment alone, the program integrates art, architecture and landscape with health care. This creates an inspiring and unique healing experience for patients like Angelina. The program is fully funded by community and donor support.

Angelina appreciates and continues to benefit from Children’s internationally-lauded Arts & Healing program. From painting with local professional artists, to having her artwork featured on the cover of a program for another Children’s benefit, to engaging Children’s staff in unique art projects of her very own, Angelina can speak firsthand on the therapeutic value of art in her health care journey.

On October 12, Angelina plans to share her personal story with attendees of Starry Night, the first annual fundraising event benefitting Children’s “Arts & Healing and Urban Renewal Project.” Join us in supporting this important program by attending this event! Click here to purchase tickets.
