Children's receive prestigious award

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics is the recipient of the G. Scott Giebink Excellence in Immunization Award, an honor bestowed annually to a clinic or organization that has displayed leadership or innovative work in the area of immunization.

“Many of us at Children’s worked with Dr. Giebink,” says Dr. Phil Kibort. “[We] know what high standards and strong commitment he had for improving the health of children through vaccination.”

G. Scott Giebink, MD (1944-2003), was internationally respected for this work in middle ear disease and immunization. He was also a leader in the creation of MinnesotaCare, a state health-insurance program for the underprivileged.
