The full range of clinical experts, including a pain management team, care managers, nutrition services, social workers, child life specialists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and chaplains, all of whom are highly experienced in caring for children and teens coping with cardiovascular conditions.
Nationally recognized nursing excellence. The Children's program attracts and retains some of the best and most experienced nurses in the upper Midwest.
Pediatric intensive care units (PICUs.) In the PICUs in the Minneapolis and St. Paul hospitals, patients typically experience one-to-one nursing care, provided by intensive care nurses with an average of over 10 years of experience in Children's PICUs. Physician care is provided by cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons as as well as pediatric intensivists who remain in-house 24 hours per day. A dedicated pediatric pharmacist is on-site 24 hours per day.
Inpatient complimentary and alternative (CAM) medicine integrated into care.
A nationally recognized, exclusively pediatric environment.
