Healthy kids are our mission

Well-child check-ups are important as children grow into young adults. Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota has 12 pediatric primary care clinics around the metro area so that your family can get comprehensive care close to home.

Our pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners have the privilege of being part of children’s lives from birth through young adulthood. We treat babies, toddlers, children, teens and young adults. We watch our patients grow up. And it’s our mission for every child in our care to grow up happy, healthy and fit.

We take a complete approach to your child’s health. As pediatricians we focus on growth and development, injury and illness prevention, behavior concerns and nutrition.

Primary care includes preventive care, such as immunizations and well-child visits. We also care for acute illnesses, such as strep throat and bronchitis, and minor injuries. In addition, we help children and parents manage chronic conditions, such as ADHD and asthma. And we do it all with a smile.

Your neighborhood doctor — with access to top resources

We believe that every child deserves the very best possible health care. Our primary care clinics are connected to leading-edge resources through Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Patients have seamless access to experts such as pediatric cardiologists, pediatric pulmonologists and other pediatric specialists. Being part of the Children’s network also includes access to hospital diagnostic and treatment technology, rehabilitation clinics and outpatient surgery programs, to name a few.

Children’s broad range of resources ensures that our patients get the excellent care they deserve. These resources also help your pediatrician or nurse practitioner care for even the most complicated cases.

You want the very best for your child and choosing a pediatrician is an important decision. The pediatrician will partner with you to care for the health and well-being of your child for many years. Many factors go in to choosing a pediatrician and we're here to help you through the process with our 3-step guide to choosing a pediatrician.

Special care for children’s needs

Our primary care pediatricians understand the unique health needs of infants, children and teens. That’s why our pediatric primary clinics offer special programs you won’t find at a typical clinic. Here are just a few of the ways Children’s clinics stand out:

  • We help children breathe better. Asthma is one of the most common health problems in children. Our comprehensive asthma program includes education, treatment and follow-up care for children with asthma and their families.
  • We’re here for you 24/7. Many of our clinics have extended hours on nights and weekends for your convenience. Nurses are available by phone 24 hours a day to answer questions from parents and caregivers.
  • We make testing easier. Some clinics offer on-site radiology and laboratory services so children receive the care they need in fewer visits.
  • We help with care coordination. If you child’s medical needs require access to additional specialists and resources, we can coordinate appointments and other resources to make your visit easier for you and your child.
  • We help children heal at home. We can help coordinate services such as our home care program which allows children to continue medical treatment in the comfort of their family’s home. Specially trained nurses make home visits and, when appropriate, teach parents how to give treatments.

Your partner to raise healthy kids

Children are our patients. But parents are our partners. The primary care pediatricians at our clinics involve parents in the decision-making process every step of the way. Because only you can decide what’s best for your child.

And when kids are old enough, we involve them, too, so they can get a head start on making smart choices about their health.

For the doctors and nurses at Children’s primary clinics, it’s a privilege to help our patients grow into healthy adults. It’s a job we take seriously — and we have a whole lot of fun doing it.
