Conditions That May Require Gynecology Surgery
Your child's doctor may recommend surgery, laser surgery, or other gynecological procedures for a variety of conditions. Some of the most common gynecological conditions treated at Children's are:

- Congenital abnormalities of the hymen (such as imperforate, microperforate, or septate hymen or hymenal skin tags)
- Labial hypertrophy
- Ovarian masses and cysts
- Revision of female circumcision/mutilation procedures
- Surgical repair of traumatic injuries
- Vaginal abnormalities (such as agenesis of the lower vagina, transverse vaginal septum, longitudinal vaginal septum, or agenesis of the vagina)
