Hayden's Story
By Sarah
New Ulm, MN
I went in to the hospital in New Ulm at 2 days shy of my due date because I couldn't feel Hayden move in my belly. His heart rate continued to drop. After the emergency c-section, it was discovered Hayden had lost 2/3 of his blood supply due to an unknown hemorrhage. He needed intubation, 2 transfusions and several other things I can't even recall. He was airlifted to Children's where he only had to spend 5 days before he came home. I know that's short for a Children's stay but it seemed like a lifetime to us. I still think of the wonderful NICU nurses who took care of him. We knew he was in the best of hands. He continues to grow like a weed and thrive now. He is our miracle baby that we came so close to losing.
