Clinic Visits: What to Expect

What is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner?

A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is a nurse with advanced training and education, specializing in the care of children. A PNP is a health care provider who cares for children with CF in and out of the hospital by gathering your child’s health history, examining your child, ordering tests, and with the input of other team members planning the care for your child. At the Children’s CF Center, PNPs are board certified nationally in both pediatric primary care and pediatric acute care. This recognizes their expertise in the care of children with special health care needs both at home and in the hospital.
