Children’s Infusion Center
Children’s infusion center is the only pediatric hematology/oncology infusion center in Minnesota. Located at Children’s – Minneapolis, the center provides more than 5,000 infusion visits per year. Using the center can eliminate the need for an inpatient stay, reduce hospital costs, and allow children to return to home or school more quickly. Children’s infusion center features:
- State-of-the-art procedure rooms
- Sedation services for select procedures
- Complex case management
- Extended hours, in certain cases, to accommodate specific patient and family needs
Children’s infusion center serves hematology and oncology patients as well as patients with genetic disorders. Therapies and procedures include:
- Chemotherapy to treat cancer, blood disorders, and other conditions
- Complicated enzyme replacement therapy and monoclonal antibody therapy
- Enzyme therapies
- Genetic enzyme replacement
- Immunoglobulin therapy
- Lumbar puncture and intrathecal chemotherapy
- Transfusion of red blood cells or platelets
