The Caring Place Library

Books provide guidance, support, and help to adults and children alike. Yet in times of crisis it is not always easy to get helpful books. Children’s has created the Caring Place Library online so families can choose from an annotated bibliography and check out books.

Our staff identifies their favorites in many categories based on their experience and parent feedback. Book topics focus on living with life threatening illness, death and dying, grieving, and other topics.

If you are currently enrolled with Children’s of Minnesota, Karuna, Hospice, or Deeya care, our staff will arrange to get books to you. Please ask your nurse or a team member to help you.

If you are not enrolled with our services and are interested in purchasing a resource, please call Oleanna books at (612) 722-5861 or e-mail them at oleannabooks@mn.rr.com. You may also call the Red Balloon Bookshop at (651) 224-8320 or visit them online at www.redballoonbookshop.com/

The Caring Place Library was donated by the parents of Aaron Rixe in his memory. To learn more about his story, see Oct. 11, 2002 article posted in the Coon Rapids Herald.

The library continues to grow through generous gifts and donations from friends and families touched by our programs and services.
