The Children’s Integrative Medicine team has created environments that appeal to children, that support the needs of concerned parents, and that promote the healing process.
Both Children’s hospitals feature innovative facilities that incorporate principles of healing design throughout. These spaces are designed to be nurturing, natural, comfortable, and non-threatening. In addition, through our unique collaboration with the cultural care and interpreter services program, we include culturally diverse artwork and toys and provide translated materials whenever possible.
Families will find a welcoming selection of support services including:
- carefully chosen specialized retail products to provide the most effective, highest quality options in essential oils, vitamins and supplements, stress management items, books, music, and other natural health supplies that are safe and age appropriate.
- quiet relaxation areas for waiting that include specially selected music and amenities such as a foot massager.
- books, magazines, and special databases with information about complementary and alternative therapies for kids.
- seated chair massage for parents, as time permits.
- informational workshops about various topics that explore integrative therapies.
